As our children journey through life, their academic progress is directly related to their eventual economic and social success. School Board Vice-President Matthew John Markling believes that our mission is to lay the foundation for happy, engaged, productive citizenship.

Matt was elected on the promise that he will work to improve academic excellence throughout the Lakewood City Schools. Matt will keep that promise without excuse or reservation.

Matt promises to promote academic excellence by demanding that all initiatives relate to improving academic excellence among all students.

School Board Vice-President Matthew John Markling believes that our students must learn responsibility for civility and student safety.

Matt was elected on the promise that he will work to improve school safety throughout the Lakewood City Schools. Matt will keep that promise without excuse or reservation.

Matt promises to promote school safety by demanding that all initiatives relate to improving school safety for all students.

School Board Vice-President Matthew John Markling believes that the most important responsibility of a school board is to employ excellent educational professionals. While Matt does not manage the day-to-day operations of the Lakewood City Schools, Matt insists that our public education system is properly managed to maximize academic excellence and school safety.

Matt was elected on the promise that he will work to improve leadership throughout the Lakewood City Schools. Matt will keep that promise without excuse or reservation.

Matt promises to promote leadership that inspires trust among all key stakeholders.

Fortunately there will be much assistance in keeping these promises. The Lakewood City Schools has dedicated parents and excellent teachers and staff members, as well as seasoned school board members and administrators. Most importantly, the Lakewood City Schools has the support of the Citizens of Lakewood.
